What we do

Limejump is a technology platform that manages a large renewable energy network. Our portfolio delivers clean energy to businesses and homes, using renewables and stored energy when it’s needed to meet demand.

Limejump connects and manages 100% renewable energy through the intelligent control of renewable generators, such as wind turbines and solar panels. Limejump works closely with renewable asset owners, buying their energy and then selling it in to the UK’s grid, giving them simple access to the power market. But, the sun isn’t always shining and the wind isn’t always blowing. Limejump must therefore capture energy for times when there is high demand. By harnessing big data and renewable technology, Limejump is actively accelerating the UK’s transition to net zero carbon emissions.

The challenge we face

As the world decarbonises its energy systems to meet ambitious net zero targets, the complexity of creating a 100% renewable energy future has become apparent.

As more and more distributed renewable electricity generators integrate on to the grid, it becomes a greater challenge to keep the balance required for a resilient network. Historically, coal was burned day and night to meet supply and demand, transitioning to renewables has led to an increasingly volatile network as renewable sources, such as the wind and sun, are not always out in force. We need to create a grid that is flexible, capturing renewable generation within flexible devices, such as batteries when demand is low and ensuring we can discharge these flexible assets at times of peak demand alongside our extensive renewable generation portfolio. Technology holds the key to a 100% renewable energy future.

How will Limejump achieve their vision?

The industry still has a long way to go. But, the energy transition is gathering pace and Limejump is in pole position to support the growing renewables and battery integration:

Our technology empowers our customers, it enables them to be part of the clean energy revolution – integrating more and more renewable generation across the UK.

Limejump will power businesses and homes with renewable energy, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Technology holds the key to a renewable future, this is why Limejump has built a scalable and agile platform that will optimise generation and flexible assets in real time.

Limejump can’t achieve this on their own

Our vision will be achieved through collaboration with generators and asset owners. Limejump will continue to offer generators transparent and sophisticated access to the energy market while also intelligently controlling our Battery & Peaking portfolio on behalf of asset owners. Limejump is actively supporting the wider grid with much needed flexibility and delivering renewable energy to end users in real time.

This holistic approach will enable us to realise our vision for a 100% renewable energy future.

Limejump & Shell

Working together towards net zero

Limejump has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell since 2019, and is a part of Shell’s Renewables & Energy Solutions division. Shell is supporting Limejump to drive its intelligent technology platform to new heights, enabling us to continue our mission to revolutionise the energy industry and optimise 100% renewable energy. Together, we are focused on three main objectives; paving the way to a more sustainable energy future, maximising revenue streams for all decentralised asset owners and utilising data science and technology to enhance the interplay between renewable supply, demand flexibility and energy storage.
