We connect and manage 100% renewable energy through the intelligent control of renewable generators, such as wind turbines and solar panels. We work closely with renewable asset owners, buying their energy and then selling it onto the UK’s grid, giving them simple access to the power market. But, the sun isn’t always shining and the wind isn’t always blowing. We must therefore capture energy for times when there is high demand. By harnessing big data and renewable technology, we accelerate the UK’s transition to net zero carbon emissions.


The role

You will in this position work within the Financial Reporting and Control team whilst also supporting the wider Finance function. You will work closely with our Billing & Operations, and Customer Service team on an ongoing basis on customer queries to maintain high quality customer experience. Whilst also working and supporting our Account Managers on debt management of battery/import customers.

This is an exciting position as you will also gain exposure to Limejump’s main Commercial functions, and will be a great development opportunity to grow into a professional Accountant role whilst also gaining experience within the Renewable Energy Sector.

You will in this position report directly into our Financial Controller.


Apprenticeship Training

The role will be expected to undertake and complete all components of the ACA or CIMA Accounting Technician apprenticeship (Level 4) over 12 to 24 months. Support will be offered off site/on site to fulfil the requirements of the apprenticeship scheme.

The apprentice will be a student member of First Intuition, a professional tutor for the accounting sector. On completion, the apprentice may choose to apply for associate membership of chosen professional body.


What you’ll do:

  • Support in preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and fortnightly 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Work with Account Managers on debt management of battery/import customers.
  • Support with bookkeeping, invoice processing, AP/AR and payments.
  • Support statutory accounting & reporting, and preparation for annual external and internal audits.
  • Support on capitalisation process of R&D function.
  • Adhoc tasks including Shell reporting requirements and any other financial reporting and control requirements.

 
What we need from you - Essential requirements:

  • A passion for Limejump’s vision, renewable energy markets and UK carbon neutrality targets.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4-9 (A*-C) or equivalent.
  • Some academic accounting and finance experience / education.
  • Passion to grow into a professional accountant through an apprenticeship scheme.
  • Excel advanced knowledge and ability to handle and analyse large data sets.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Systematic and structured thinker with demonstrated ability to innovate systems and optimise and automate processes.
  • A strong communicator, approachable and builds effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • A ‘can do’ proactive attitude with a willingness to take on new tasks and challenges as they arise.

 
Desirable skills and experience:

  • AAT or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a finance team / accounting position at a business.
  • Energy industry knowledge or experience.
  • Experience in Xero accounting software.

Working Pattern

Limejump is following government guidelines closely as we continue to work remotely from home. Once colleagues are welcomed back into the office later in the year we will be working off a hybrid model of 2 days office / 3 days from home.

Unfortunately, Limejump cannot offer 100% remote roles.
